Mauna Kea Beach Hotel recently unveiled Hawaii Island’s newest venue for meetings and social functions, Kauna’oa Ballroom. Boasting three sides of floor-to-ceiling windows framing stunning views of Kauna’oa Bay, the ballroom features nearly 3,500 square feet of indoor function space as well as expansive outdoor pre-function space.

“We’re proud to introduce such a unique and versatile space as Kauna’oa Ballroom,” said Peter Thoene, Mauna Kea Resort Director of Sales and Marketing. “In addition to prime facilities and luxurious amenities, an array of on-property activities ranging from championship golf to enhanced beach services and cultural classes positions Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as Hawaii Island’s top choice for meetings, weddings, social functions, and other events.”

Flexible for events of various sizes and scope, built-in pre-function and breakout room space includes the lanai surrounding the ballroom as well as a nearby open-air area with a striking mural commissioned by local artist Solomon Enos. A connecting breezeway between the new ballroom and the 100-room Beachfront Wing offers the unique opportunity for a “hotel within a hotel” experience tailored for incentive and corporate group travel.

Together with sister property Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, the two hotels encompass nearly 150,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space with fulltime banquet and conference services staff to ensure each event is a success.

As a special introductory offer, new groups of 25 or more with a three night minimum stay will receive guaranteed oceanview rooms at both Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, complimentary WiFi, VIP round of golf for four, and 10% off banquet menus. Groups may also qualify to receive a one bedroom suite upgrade per every 50 room nights booked.

Kaunaoa Ballroom is part of a larger $4.5 million transformation of the promenade level inclusive of the new Copper Bar, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s iconic gathering place.
