Mauna Kea Beach Hotel was selected as Pacific Business News’ Leader in Tourism and Hospitality Winner 2015.
The resort’s 50-year history and longstanding legacy established in 1965 by venture capitalist and conservationist Laurance Rockefeller was sited among reasons for the award. Mauna Kea Beach Hotel has “weathered economic downturns, natural disasters and increased competition…to stand out as a sought after-destination that prides itself on timeless authenticity,” said PBN reporter Darin Moriki.
Six Hawaii business leaders and 30 companies in all were recognized in five categories at the gala which took place in Honolulu on November 12th.
“This award helps validate all of the hard work day in and day out by our team members who have warmly welcomed generations of guests to Mauna Kea,” said Mauna Kea Resort vice president of operations Craig Anderson. “They have helped establish the very legacy for which we are known and they are, without doubt, the leaders in tourism and hospitality.”
